While Boba Fett and The “Clone Wars” Captain REX haven’t been making appearances lately, it’s still nice to see some extra Star Wars magic in the area. You may recall R2-D2 visiting Disneyland guests last summer.

Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar is what you’d get if you took the DNA of Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, The Jungle Cruise, and The Adventurer’s Club (R.I.P.) from Florida’s Pleasure Island but made it more compact and intimate.  We see Trader Sam at the end of the Disneyland Jungle Cruise attraction but here we see the fruits of his trading obsession.
On one wall you will find a familiar bull-whip and a note from Indy to Sam that states:

Sam,
Mine always seems to get me out of trouble, so I picked up an extra for you.
In case someone asks for a special drink you need to whip up.
Running a bar can be tricky.  See if you can find Marion if you need any tips!

On another wall closer to the entrance is a display behind glass of some other Indiana Jones Adventure artifacts including a decoder of the Maraglyphics.  A note from Sallah to Sam insists that a trade took place between them as well!

There is much more to see and drink at Trader Sam’s so we encourage a visit for your very self.  And if we happen to miss any more Indiana Jones references, please don’t hesitate to let us know!

Xbox 360 Announces “Kinect: Disneyland Adventures” Launch Date and New Experiences

Children, families and Disney fans of all ages were delighted when “Kinect: Disneyland® Adventures” was revealed at E3 2011. Today, Xbox 360 and Disney Interactive Studios are excited to announce that the magic of “Kinect: Disneyland Adventures” will be available in North America on Nov. 15, 2011.

This week Xbox 360 offers another glimpse of the iconic adventures included in “Kinect: Disneyland Adventures,” revealing new gameplay experiences at D23 Expo 2011, the ultimate Disney fan event, and Gamescom in Germany. Event attendees will visit the Swiss Alps and encounter the Abominable Snowman on the Matterhorn Bobsleds; see and hear macaws, toucans, orchids and totem poles singing in the Enchanted Tiki Room; join a skipper on a wild adventure to see zebras, hippos and gorillas on the Jungle Cruise as well as navigate the waters of the bayou in new chapters of Pirates of the Caribbean.
As fans venture through “Kinect: Disneyland Adventures” they will also enjoy songs from popular Disney attractions including “The Tiki Tiki Tiki Room” and “Yo Ho (A Pirate’s Life For Me).”

UPDATE: Visit Artoo at Disneyland “Off and on – through 8/18″.

R2-D2 has begun making appearances at Disneyland, greeting guests and posing for pictures complete with beeps, boops, and whistles.  The experience is completed with a pop-up sensorscope (Cast Members may try and convince you that it’s a periscope).

No official word on how long R2-D2 will be greeting guests but we hope to find out soon.  In any case, we can still see the R2-D2 from the films inside the main queue of Star Tours: The Adventures Continue.

Our media host Angela (dressed in a familiar hairstyle) is operating the Star Tours front desk with only one seat remaining.  Who will it go to?  The Jedi or Darth Vader?  An all out war (or the best of the Jedi Training Academy can offer) takes place until a mysterious Jedi appears with two lightsabers, double-fisting Darth Vader into submission.  This mysterious warrior earns the last seat but who is he?

Why, he’s Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Chairman Tom Staggs and without breaking a sweat, introduces us to the brand new attraction while thanking many of the hard working Imagineers and ILMers for their time and dedication.

The ribbon is cut and Disneyland’s version of Star Tours: The Adventures continue is at last open to the public.   With 54 possible combinations, lines remained at an average of 3 hours.  But of course, we waited this long for an updated attraction, what’s a few hours?

While the celebration didn’t come close to matching the celebrity clout that Disney Hollywood Studios had, kudos still goes to the Imagineers and Disneyland team that delivered this attraction successfully.
