Star Tours is back, and everyone has to know it! Disney has launched a big media campaign, with some brilliant TV Ads. We all remember the rather fun Piece Of Cake commercial, but this one does, pardon the pun, takes the cake. Even the Dark Lord himself can’t wait to ride the new Star Tours.

Disney California Adventure’s latest dark ride attraction opens to the public today but the opening ceremony took place yesterday afternoon in true Disney fashion. Tom Staggs, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts introduced composer Alan Menken to the stage for a few words. It was a “dream come true” for Alan as he is now a part of the legacy in a state-of-the-art Disney attraction at last.
With all the excitement surrounding the relaunch of STAR TOURS THE ADVENTURES CONTINUES at both Disneyland and Disney Hollywood Studios, we didn’t want to ignore the addition of a new dark ride featuring a certain Little Mermaid named Ariel. ‘The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure’ opens June 3rd at Disney California Adventure as part of the massive expansion project brought upon the Disneyland Resort.
The Star Trader reopened on Friday May 6th with a brand new look! The X-Wing fighter that has hung from the upper floor of the old Starcade has been moved back into the store. Cast members say it was repainted by Lucasfilm to match exactly the props used in the movies. It’s flying pretty low so we hope someone doesn’t take a swing at it. The UFOs are still there and don’t really seem to fit in with the new Star Wars theme but I guess having something in there is better than nothing at all. Too bad they couldn’t be turned into A-Wing fighters.

June 3rd is coming up quickly. There are lots of construction walls, tarps and scaffolding around the Star Tours building in Tomorrowland. From Tuesday March 15 to Friday March 18, I watched the X-Wing in the Starcade be removed. Will it find its way back home to the Star Trader?
DisneyParksBlog posted a look back at the Grand Opening of The Indiana Jones Adventure. The popular Disneyland attraction opened March 3 1995.
As STAR TOURS: THE ADVENTURES CONTINUES races towards its June 3rd, opening, construction on the attraction has moved to the exterior. New tarps have since gone up showing off the Starspeeder 1000.
Work is also being done at the neighboring STAR TRADER, which has since taken up residence within the STARCADE for your shopping convenience.
It is going to be a busy summer at the Disneyland Resort. DisneyParksBlog.com just announced the opening dates for Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure and Mickey’s Soundsational Parade.
