STAR TOURS CONSTRUCTION – UPDATE

The new marquee and facades of STAR TOURS: THE ADVENTURES CONTINUE was revealed this past week at Disneyland Park.  Fresh new coats of paint also accent the flashier signage as construction of the new attraction and the neighboring Star Trader shop stays on course for the June 3rd official opening.

Star Tours: The Adventures Continue cast member costumes

Inside the Magic has posted artwork showing what Star Tours cast members will be wearing when the attraction opens May 20th at the Disney’s Hollywood Studios and on June 3rd at Disneyland.

New Star Tours Destinations Confirmed

Tom Fitzgerald,Executive VP & Senior Creative Executive, Walt Disney Imagineering posted again today on DisneyParksBlog. Following up on his post from a few days ago, today Fitzgerald announced these destinations:

  • Tatooine for the Boonta Eve Podrace
  • Coruscant
  • Naboo
  • Kashyyyk
  • Hoth
  • The Death Star (this time above the planet Geonosis)

Fitzgerald also mentioned, “we’ll be departing from a spectacular new Spaceport.”

New Star Tours Destinations to be Revealed

Tom Fitzgerald, Executive VP & Senior Creative Executive, Walt Disney Imagineering posted on Disney Parks Blog:

“Recently, we talked about the characters you’ll meet in Star Tours – The Adventures Continue. Since then, there’s been a lot of speculation about where we’ll meet those characters. Well, stay tuned. While the Star Tours Company does fly to many destinations (as you can see in the attached image – especially if you read Aurebesh) we’ll soon give you the flight list for our show!”

Star Tours Temporary Signage

For folks following the progress of Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, Disney has recently taken down the familiar Star Tours marquee and replaced it with a tempory banner.  A brand new marquee will be introduced when the attraction re-opens in Spring 2011.
