R2-D7 is a worker astromech droid involved with replacement parts at the Droidnostics Center. Working closely with the Mon Calamari, and the rebellious I.D.A., he is just one of the many droid teams in the company.

While the droid bears the name of R2-D7, it has the dome of an R4 unit. It is quite possible that this has been a hybrid repair, done with the materials that were found on-hand.
