Fans of Star Wars and Disney have even more to celebrate as a new character has been seen rolling around Tomorrowland.  No, WALL-E hasn’t yet made his appearance but astromech R2-D2, star of every Star Wars film to date has.

UPDATE: Visit Artoo at Disneyland “Off and on – through 8/18”.

R2-D2 has begun making appearances at Disneyland, greeting guests and posing for pictures complete with beeps, boops, and whistles.  The experience is completed with a pop-up sensorscope (Cast Members may try and convince you that it’s a periscope).

No official word on how long R2-D2 will be greeting guests but we hope to find out soon.  In any case, we can still see the R2-D2 from the films inside the main queue of Star Tours: The Adventures Continue.
