Disney Parks Blog updated with a preview of the next wave of the popular Star Wars Vinylmation figures.

“Series Two is a limited-release, mystery series, which means there are 11 known figures and one “mystery chaser” figure. Each figure is packaged in a box, so you won’t know which one you will get until you open it.“

There will be a Release & Signing event at D Street, Downtown Disney® District with Disney Design Group Senior Character Artist Casey Jones.

DISCOVERY SCIENCE CENTER HOSTS STAR WARS™ FAN DAY: “USE YOUR INSTINCTS” March 3, 2012

SANTA ANA, CA – Calling all Star Wars™ fans! Visit Discovery Science Center (DSC) this Saturday for the fourth Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination ‘Fan Day’ as we take family fun to another galaxy with special presentations and activities for Star Wars fans of all ages. Each ‘Fan Day’ features unique presentations and activities, Star Wars character photo ops, and a costume parade at every event. Plus, match trivia wits against Star Wars characters and fans to demonstrate mastery of the “Force.”  Also, kids ages 3-14 get free general admission when they wear a Star Wars costume on any Fan Day.*

StarWars.com posted a “sneak peek” of Disney – Star Wars 2011 pins including a limited edition Star Tours countdown pin. They also linked to a page on Disney’s website letting fans know about a Sci-Fi Academy trading event at the Disneyland Hotel June 24th. Several cool items are listed in the event catalog including exclusive Star Tours and Tron pins.

Sad news, friends. Irvin Kershner passed away today at the age of 87. To most folks out there, I’m sure they hear the name and think, “Who?”… But Star Wars fans know the name and utter it with admiration.
