Yavin 4

Yavin 4 is one of only three habitable moons orbiting the gas giant Yavin. Since Yavin 4 orbits the gas giant of Yavin Prime, the tiny jungle moon experiences two differents forms of nightfall. When rotating on its axis and not facing Yavin star though still staring at the pale orange giant of Yavin Prime, the light on Yavin 4 dims to a plasteel glow, resulting in twillight nights. However, when Yavin 4 moves behind the gas giant of Yavin Prime which also eclipses the sun, it experiences a dark night. Once every several months, because of Yavin 4’s rotation and its orbit around the gas giant of Yavin Prime, the moon experiences long dark nights in which temperatures drop rapidly, thus causing enough turbulence in the atmosphere to generate powerful storms which ravage the jungle-covered surface.

Yavin 4 also experiences beautiful phenomena known as “rainbow storms” which occur when the radiant beams of the system’s sun poke through the hazy upper atmosphere of Yavin Prime, causing the sunlight to become polarized. Thus, when the sunlight meets the ice crystals in the moon’s upper atmosphere, sparkling showers of rainbows appear on the surface.

On Yavin 4 you can take a trip to the major temple complexes, left behind by the Sith and the Massassi. These include the Great Temple, the Palace of the Woolamander and the Temple of the Blueleaf Cluster. You can also visit the Jedi Praxeum, the Geonosian Bio-Lab or the Lost City of the Jedi.

Other activities such as a jungle survival trek can be organized by your tour-operator, don’t hesistate to ask for more information!
