Life Day, a Wookiee celebration spawned by the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special, has caught a spark at the Disney Parks in recent years, with limited edition merchandise and food… and die hard fans ate it up. But something was missing. Yes, you could buy your very own red robes to wear, but Chewbacca carried about the land like usual. Finally in 2025, guests visiting Disneyland Park’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge can come meet Chewbacca donning the red robes honoring Life Day!

Beginning in the evenings on November 17, 2025 for a limited time, Chewbacca can be found donning the red robes with his glowing Life Day Orb. (Guests visiting Walt Disney World can find Chewbacca celebrating Life Day at Disney Jollywood Nights!)

In addition, guests can find a variety of food and beverage offerings throughout the land beginning on November 14 including:

Kerkoiden Cold Hot Chocolate available at Kat Saka’s Kettle 

Millaflower Toast – Oga’s Cantina 

Kublag Curry – Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo 

Wookiee Ookiees – Milk Stand 

Life Day celebrations originated on the Wookiee home planet of Kashyyyk and celebrates the values and tenets of Wookiee culture, including family, joy and harmony. Today, Wookiees across the galaxy still mark the occasion.  

And another reminder that Oga’s Cantina has transitioned to walk-up available with a traditional standby queue and no longer takes reservations.
