Star Tours Awakens (No Foolin!)

Is Star Tours in STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS?!

Trust us, this is not an April Fool’s prank. And we are glad it isn’t! The newest Star Wars is available on digital download and on demand around the world, with the Blu-ray available on April 5th.

Watching the film again more closely, a familiar ship appears in the background of Jakku just as Rey drags her scavenged goods to sell. Directly behind Crusher Roodown to the left is a ship; it’s faint and hard to spot but it’s certainly a Star Speeder 1000 parked back there, adding even more credence to Star Tours being not only a sight seeing service, but a time travel one too.

We reported back in 2011 that a Flux Capacitor can be found on C-3PO’s panel in the main loading queue of the ride so it’s certainly possible.

The original Star Tours takes place closer to the end of the original trilogy and by then, Star Tours begun using the blue Starspeeder 3000’s so it is interesting that the older Starspeeder 100 would be found there. Would Rey consider the Starspeeder 1000 garbage as well?

If you know who put the Starspeeder 1000 into the film, please let us know! We would love to talk to him/her!

Thanks to Mickael Plasse for the tip!
