ROTS is here!

by Kris Van de Sande on May 19, 2005

After years of waiting, the climactic chapter of the Prequel trilogy, or the third chapter of the saga, the one that explains a lot, has been released! but it is not the end, because Star Wars Is Forever.

For once Belgium get things first (well, most of Europe did, but as far as I know we are the only ones with the original English screening.) But yeah, I saw it at the avant premiere, at 18 May, 00.01 AM. And again at 20.00.. So you can tell I have a Sith Overload, and not only with the movie, but also the press attention I have received lately, it has been an out-of-this-universe experience!

Also expect more features coming soon, including a C3 article!

Jim Hill Media reports that talks are underway between the new Disney CEO Bob Iger and George Lucas about finally updating Star Tours with the latest digital projection technology and physical onboard effects.

It seems Iger is trying to be very nice to Lucas in order to get the new Star Wars TV show to premiere on ABC and this would be part of the package to promote the show. They are aiming for having it open on the 20th anniversary of Star Tours in 2007.

Rubber Bracelets

by Kris Van de Sande on May 9, 2005

It seems to be in lately to wear a rubber bracelet. Lance Armstrong did it with “Live Strong”, Nike did it with “Stand Up, Speak Up”, and StarWarsshop did it with “Revenge Of the Sith“! But there is more!

If you wanted one of the red SWShop bracelets, you had to be quick. If you were not to make it at C3, you had to relay on a friend, or swap one on eBay. Because these were unannounced goodies, you can bet a lot ended up on eBay, however, if you don’t want to overpay for one, there are always alternatives to bidding.

Krull tunes in with this picture of 2 “REVENGE” bracelets to be found in the Star Traders! There are also blue bracelets with the words “REBEL” on them. He was not sure, but he believed there were also yellow “REBEL” bracelets. Each one retails for $2.00.

Not only Star Wars has these bracelets, nowadays, everyone seems to wear them. for whatever use they are good, I share a small tip for the convention goers If you, like me, was wearing a lot of badges, at a convention like C3, one of those bracelets makes it quite easy to bind them all together. Something like The Force .. or Ducktape. Thanks to Krull for the image and news!
