Legoland to Expand Star Wars Area

Thanks to Randy from TheArnoldFans.com for letting us know that the LATimes.com posted a article about Legoland in Carlsbad, CA adding to it’s Star Wars Miniland area.

“Set to open March 29, the Star Wars Gallery will include 3-foot-tall Lego models of a dozen characters from the epic film saga, including Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, R2D2, Yoda and Darth Vader.”

Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination Lands in OC!

The Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana, California has just opened a new exhibit called “Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination”. I was able to go to VIP preview last night. President of the Discovery Science Center Joe Adams talked about what it took to bring this exhibit to Orange County. “The Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination exhibit is a perfect fit for the Center as it blends science with excitement and imagination. With demand comes opportunity. This is the largest traveling exhibit we have ever hosted. To accommodate the entire exhibit, we had to create two new galleries from our existing space and add a tent in the parking lot. “

RETCONNING REX

If you’re like me, up until Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, you believed that the RX pilot droid was a brand-new model shortly after the end of Return of the Jedi.

But now we know that RX’s were actually in existence prior to A New Hope, which led me to reconsider an obscure passage from L. Neil Smith’s 1983 novel Lando Calrissian and the Mindharp of Sharu. And the traits of the 1986 Rex pilot dovetail pretty nicely with the descriptions from the older novel.
